With a growing interest in reducing CO2 emissions, increasing fuel efficiency and saving the consumer money in the end, car makers have stepped up their game in the hybrid, alternative-fuel, and electric vehicle markets. Of course, Chevrolet is no exception, setting the EV bar pretty high with the release of the Chevy Volt earlier this year. And, according to a recent announcement, they're ready to throw another EV into the mix.
Called the Spark EV, the new eco-friendly addition is set to arrive Connell Chevrolet, located at 2828 Harbor Blvd Costa Mesa, CA 92626 as early as 2013.But, what will set this apart from other EVs on the market? Well, we think the automaker says it best when they refer to the mini car as "a tiny development. With gigantic potential." 1
According to Chevrolet, the Spark EV was designed to capture the hearts of city drivers everywhere. In an official press release from Chevrolet, Jim Federico, Global Vehicles Chief Engineer for Electric Vehicles, says of this potential, "The Spark EV offers customers living in urban areas who have predictable driving patterns or short commutes an all-electric option...it complements Chevrolet's growing range of electrified vehicles."2
The Spark isn't just about EV technology, either. Chevrolet has taken this opportunity to create a uniquely styled car, inside and out. The 5-door EV has a sporty look about it, without losing any of the practicality Chevy cars are known for. It's designed to be fun to drive and ride in - complete with a motorcycle inspired dash and spacious interior to maximize comfort for all.
As Chevrolet continues to offer innovation in the EV market, Connell Chevrolet promises to keep you informed.
